The Design of the Year Award went to Shenzhen Voxtech’s radio communication headset designed for high-end tactical applications such as military, SWAT and riot police. It is an ear-free device equipped with a dual-bone conduction speaker that converts radio-transmitted communications into mechanical vibrations that send sound to the internal ear through the cranial bones.

Winning products set to be showcased at Global Sources’ China Sourcing Fair: Electronics & Components

Winning products and finalists are set to be showcased at the Design Awards Gallery during the China Sourcing Fair: Electronics & Components (www.chinasourcingfair.com), Oct. 12 to 15 at Hong Kong’s AsiaWorld-Expo.

Saunderson said: “The Awards recognize the achievements and successes of Asian manufacturers who design electronics products that improve our lives.

“Tens of thousands of buyers from around the world will have the chance to see these innovative products first-hand at Global Sources’ Electronics & Components Fair, which opens tomorrow.”

Global Sources Electronics Design Awards, sponsored by Bureau Veritas, aim to highlight Asia’s most innovative electronics. The nine winners were selected out of over 200 entries from mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea based on technical design; features and functionality; visual appeal; and sales, marketing and export success.

The judging panel was made up of top industry experts and executives, including Celestica’s Director of Asian Commodity Management, Kevin Beveridge and IBM China Procurement Company’s Manager of Procurement Services, David Hu.
