China(mainland) – H3C Technologies Co. Ltd has announced its expansion of tie-ups with independent software and peer vendors on its Open Application Architecture (OAA) program, which was launched two years ago.

The partnerships aim to further leverage the advantages of the company’s IP based products and the partners’ specific applications for customized, end-to-end solutions. Through the broadened alliance, enterprise customers can receive more IP-based services and tailor-made solutions for their businesses.

The OAA plan increases the application value for customers by bundling H3C product solutions and third-party vendors’ applications, which can be seen in H3C IP storage area network (SAN) products. This joint solution of data recovery and back-up capability can protect business data through a combination of H3C’s DL1000S VTL (Virtual Tape Library) solution and the partner’s back-up software.

Partner software vendors also benefit from the OAA cooperation as their products are jointly delivered to customers. Multi-vendor products can also be cross-tested for interoperability and compatibility.

The company, with its wireless LAN solution, currently works with some mainstream Wi-Fi handset manufacturers to develop and offer end-to-end wireless voice and/or data application to enterprises. Continuing partnership expansion covers all product areas, including new ones such as IP video surveillance and IP storage.
