United States – Phihong USA Inc. has released a new power-over-Ethernet (PoE) adapter that complies with power specifications stated in draft 3.0 of the IEEE802.3at. This device, named POE36U, is a single-port injector that provides up to 33.6W of power. It is suitable for use in IP telephones, access points (AP), Bluetooth access points, wireless network access points, security cameras, IP print servers and biometric sensors.

The type 2 PoE adapter features Layer 1-/2-finger classification. It works well with Gigabit and diagnostic LEDs and supports automatic device detection. It has over-voltage, over-current, and short-circuit protection.

The single-port PoE adapter is compatible with Cisco AP1250 Series access points and can run in full power mode. It sells for $49.95 each.
